The baby has finally drifted off. After weeks of noise the flat is oddly quiet. And you realise you can't remember the last time you breathed just for yourself. Shoulders stiff from carrying, back tired from feeding, a head full of love and lost sleep. A gentle postpartum massage is made for exactly this moment. An hour of calm and care you don't have to earn or justify to anyone.
At ESCAPE that means a soft, relaxing oil massage. Not a medical or rehabilitation procedure, and no promises about "getting your body back". Simply a kind bit of care for a body that has been through a lot. But before you come in, there are two things we want to be completely straight with you about.
A postpartum massage with us is a gentle, relaxing oil massage for new mums, not a medical or rehabilitation procedure. It's for rest and relief, not treatment.
Please come in only once postpartum bleeding has stopped and your doctor has given the go-ahead. We always adapt pressure and positioning to you.
First, the important part — when and with whose blessing
Let's be honest with each other. A postpartum massage with us is a relaxing massage for comfort and rest, not a medical, physiotherapy or rehabilitation procedure. We make no medical claims and we don't treat post-birth conditions. That's for doctors, gynaecologists and physiotherapists, and they always come first.
Your body is healing on the inside, the uterus is recovering and that early period has its own timeline. A massage doesn't belong in the middle of it. So we ask just one thing.
- Wait until postpartum bleeding has fully stopped.
- Get clearance from your doctor or gynaecologist first. It isn't a formality.
- After an uncomplicated birth that line is typically around 6 weeks, and considerably longer after a caesarean, until the scar has calmly healed.
- Every body recovers at its own pace. Follow your own doctor, not the calendar, and not what worked for a friend.
Still expecting? That's a different massage
Are you still pregnant and looking for a massage before the birth? This page isn't the one. It's for the time after your baby arrives. For pregnancy we offer a dedicated, purpose-adapted pregnancy massage with safe positioning and gentle pressure, and we've written about what to expect from it in Massage during pregnancy. Either way you're in the right place. Just pick the right moment.

Why new mums treat themselves to this hour
A new mum's body carries a lot, quite literally. This isn't about "fixing" anything. It's about giving yourself some relief and a few moments where the world revolves around you. What mums most often arrive with after birth:
- Tension from feeding and carrying. Hours hunched over while feeding, and the endless lifting, holding and pram-pushing, settle into the back, neck and shoulders. Gently warming those spots is where relief tends to land first.
- A tiredness sleep can't catch up with. Broken nights add up and the body can't "catch up on sleep" to order. A slow massage won't give you sleep. But it helps the nervous system shift out of high alert into calm, and that alone unwinds beautifully.
- A rare moment just for you. An hour of quiet, warmth and care that's so hard to find in the early months. No phone, no monitor in your ear, no guilt.
We don't promise any of this as a treatment. It's rest, release and the feeling that someone is finally, kindly, looking after you too.
How this works at ESCAPE
A postpartum massage with us isn't a standalone "technique". We deliver it through two of our gentlest oil massages, adapted to your tender body:
- Aroma Relax Massage. A slow oil massage with calming essential oils. Ideal when you mainly need to switch off your head and settle your mind.
- Coconut Oil Massage. Nourishing, warm and gentle, soothing for a tired and tender body.
If you're not sure, our classic relax massage is close in spirit too. We're happy to advise in person on what will suit you. Before we begin we'll chat quietly, bring you a welcome herbal tea and find out what feels good for you. We always adapt pressure and positioning, comfortable for a tender body and for breastfeeding mums, for example with support under the chest. And you set the intensity yourself with a simple SOFT / STRONG, at any point during the massage. You'll find the full range in our overview of massages and in the price list, and you can book in a few taps online.
What to expect from us
We're a boutique Thai massage salon in the centre of Prague 1, Elišky Krásnohorské 133/11, a few steps from the Old Town Square. We're open daily 10:00–22:00, so an hour for you can fit between feeds or while dad or grandma watches the baby. Our therapists are from Thailand and the Philippines, trained at prestigious schools in Southeast Asia, we work with natural oils and welcome you with herbal tea in a quiet where no one hurries you along.
A massage as a gift for a new mum
Wondering how to spoil a new mum instead of buying yet another set of babygrows? A massage voucher is one of the loveliest gifts there is. It gives her the one thing she rarely allows herself. Permission to take a moment just for her, guilt-free. See how, and why it works, in our article Massage as a gift.
